Amur’s strong start to 2024 continues with a new company record for February originations.

Here are a few trends that we’re excited about:

   • Increasing conversion amongst approved customers, telling us that businesses are confident in their revenue forecasts, future growth, and are ready to build their fleets.
   • Strong demand for construction equipment, telling us that the building trades are strong given the infrastructure investment and overall economic health.

As these indicators remain positive, the macro-economic likelihood of a 2024 recession continues to diminish. While this is generally good news, it does mean that it may take a bit longer for the Federal Reserve to cut its benchmark rate this year.

Corissa Cemper, Amur’s Vice President of Credit Processing, is responsible for making sure that our Credit Department is presented with all the information it needs to swiftly make approval decisions for our customers.

Recently, Corissa sat down with us to share some insights:

Q: How many applications does your team process on a typical day?
A: On a typical day, we process between 180 to 280 applications. However, in recent months we've seen remarkable origination numbers, processing over 320 applications per day. Some weeks exceed 1,300 applications in total!

Q: What do you attribute to your team's success?
A: Our success in being able to process this many applications can be attributed to the team's dedication to accuracy and thoroughness.  We consider every opportunity we receive to best support our vendor partners.

Q: What do you want equipment dealers to know when their customer is applying with Amur?
A: To assist my team in moving efficiently through new deals, having complete information is key. Our job is to present every application in the optimal position to be approved. We never grumble about having too much information in the beginning of a deal.

Q: What drew you to Amur and Credit Processing?
A: My background in social work instilled in me a passion for building relationships, which I've found invaluable in achieving efficient outcomes at Amur and Credit Processing. Over nine years, I've progressed from a Credit Processor, to a Manager, to now VP of Credit Processing.  At every step, I've leveraged my skills to foster collaboration within the team and ensure prompt and reliable service for our customers.

Q.   Can Amur offer a zero-down approval?
A.   Yes! Amur can offer zero-down financing on New and Used equipment for qualifying credits.
Q.   Is Amur a direct lender?
A.   Absolutely.  We are one of the largest non-bank lenders in the country, with over $5bn in equipment financed in our company's 26+ year history.
Q.   Can Amur do larger transactions?
A.   Yes!  While we most of our business in the app-only space, we are ready to finance larger assets and schedules up to $3mm and beyond!
Q.   Does an application with Amur affect my customer's credit score?
A.   Amur only performs soft credit checks, so submitting an application to Amur will not affect your customer's credit.
